Teddy & All: Excellent article, and the logical follow-up to the author's synopsis:
[The winners will be companies that benefit not only from chip-price declines, but also from bandwidth-price declines]
now is which companies fit the category...
I, for one, will be asking a friend tonight that is well-placed in Cisco for his opinion. This, since the oil patch has been my main investment focus and is a long way from the bandwidth topic...
Mucho dry powder that is waiting for a fuse on the sidelines. Guess who has been selling houses to the Silicon Valley execs. & techies lately? <gg>
Also, welcome to the Big Dog and the eloquence of Thean's last post [#992] really expressed the sentiments of this thread to a tee...

Teddy, you doggin my gold again. (ggg) I hope you don't lose your shirt this Oct. I'm sure it is different this time and you have nothing worrry about.... LOL!!!!! Good luck! you're going to need it if you are long this mkt during Oct-Nov. Keep in mind, if this mkt ever crashes and just goes back to the average (and doesn't even get cheap like it has before) we're talkin DOW 5000. Because of the high % of public participation, the economy will slow to a screaching halt, and banks are all going down the drain. You think Japan looks bad! Wait till you get a load of us in a few years!

Hello Old Friends, since you guys got out of the drillers right before I lost my shirt, I thought I'd better monitor this thread.ggg I haven't traded according to any of the info, but I've found it very interesting anyway.

As for the drillers, I'll wait until Noesis and the TA tells me to get back in.

I enjoyed your article Teddy, because I recently went long in QWST, which is a total bandwidth play. They're also the fourth largest tele company now, but what sets them apart is the amount of bandwidth they have coming online. I'd be interested in hearing any comments on this one.

Aside from QWST, I have been trading the internet stocks both short and long - it has been very good to me.

Wishing you guys the best,
007

PS LT, I still think this bull will run until interest rates rise or something fundamentally bad happens to the economy. A dangerous bubble is forming and your predictions will come true, meanwhile I think it's wise to be cautiously long for the steep finish. Early shorts get burned and there's no need to call the top.
