TRENCHLESS TECH*** I reviewed this system with the engineer for California State University Monterey Bay which has established itself on the old U.S. Army Base, Ft. Ord. This would be the ideal west coast demonstration project. The laterals on this sprawling relic are leaking badly. He acknowledges an EPA problem as some of them are leaking into the storm drains, and offshore is a national marine sanctuary. The Army will relinquish the infrastructure in about six months at which point a $3-4 million repair project over 3-5 years will commence. The potential for solving the access, safety and toxic issues caught this engineer's attention. I will forward his request for information to Pittsburgh. Still digging deeper to get to the bottom at Granite Const.
