Coherrent Communications (CCSC) is being acquired by Tellabs with terms of 1 CCSC = .72 TLAB. If you like TLAB you can buy it at almost a 12% discount because CCSC is trading at $46 and TLAB closed at $72.375. Both company's investor relations told me they are committed to close the deal and their resolve is as great as ever. They have one final govt approval on antitrust which could come anyday. They had hoped to close the deal by the
end of June but the regulators did not respond in time. Shareholders have already voted on the deal and all other approvals are done they say. The companies say that Lucent is the number one player and that Ericson is a player in the echo canceller market as well. It seem as if there is a plenty of competition by legitimate large companies to me. Maybe the antitrust regulators have been delayed on giving their approvals given their infactuation
with Microsoft and Intel.

The above was a post from the Motley Fool thread and if accurate indicates that Lucent is #1 which possibly means that the combined companies (TLAB & CCSC) may not have 70% of the marked after the merger (if it goes through).
