SemiBull!

Fancy meeting you here! I am now the proud new owner of SFAM (and CYMI) as of a couple of days ago. I just couldn't resist the price....

What do you think of this announcement? Is it an evaluation unit or two? How about the impressive customer list at the bottom? They seem to be awfully well positioned w/ respect to Asia (a curse now, but a blessing long-run).

And the OnTrak announcement yesterday? Does SFAM compete heavily in CMP cleaning?

Good to see a familiar "face."

Regards,
Kirk

Lehman Bros. still has a $55 price target and No. 1 rating on SFAM

read this url quickly as it will not post after 5-7 days.

lehman.com

posted 7/2/98 highlights:

*CMP shipments were low in 1Q, due to customer pushouts. CMP unit shipments are now increasing after the weak 4Q, as customers are taking delivery of deferred machines, and revenue volume should improve sequentially.

*The company still expect to maintain or slightly increase its CMP market share for CY98. SFAM is investing heavily in new product development to support important customer initiatives.

*We think CMP will be a $1.0 Bil market by 2000, with multiple vendors supplying the market. This opportunity fives SFAM a large CMP revenue opportunity, especially compared to its current run rate.

*Our rating remains 1-Buy. We are lowering our price target to $55 from $60 per share to reflect the lower EPS estimate for FY99, but view SFAM as one of the best ways to participate in the next equip. upturn.
