Run upward may be from increase in S&P mirror funds as money is flowing in to them. This in addition to the earnings could mean a substantial move.

LU buying LANNET is another big Lucent move. If I remember correctly the LANNET ethernet switches came in a close second to the Cisco switches in a test done by Data Communications technical magazine.
If LU acquires Ascend they could be complete as avery formidable competitor to Cisco. The market ought to completely stop comparing 3Com and Ascend to Cisco now. Cisco is the only one slugging it out alone in this battlefield.
