The Roman soldiers had a feature on their shields that enabled the soldiers in close combat to "lock" shields. Instead of fighting one person the enemy had to fight off a wall. Even when a soldier went down the shield remained locked in place. We are one ! that is the secret to our power . The unity we find in Christ. The bible says satan's house is not divided; so we too are not divided here and I will fight to keep it that way. Let's put on "all" the armor of God ! Satan has "fiery darts", also used in close combat. Satan has no "long bows", ( offensive weapons ), only darts . Defensive weapons. Strongholds are defensive in nature. Satan is on the defensive. Let us also use our short swords like the Romans used in close combat. We get down in the close quarters where we can see the eyes of the enemy ; and with the whole armor that God provides, see the terror in the eyes of the enemy as we approach. God Bless........
