WAKE UP CALL!!!

How low will this thing go?! I would love to be able to pick some up below $12!!! Problems are more severe than they let on! How can you have this kind of increases in units sold and at the same time have such a horrible loss?! The more AMD sells, the more it looses...NOT GOOD!!!

The main problem that will constantly dog AMD, until they correct it, is the fact that Intel has been WILDLY successful at branding their product while AMD has done zilch!!! The "Intel Inside" campaign has succeeded in turning a nondescript internal piece of hardware into a household word, and even made it to kids toy boxes with the cool Intel Technician dolls!

AMD needs to realize that Americans, especially, are a brand loyal bunch of consumers and are easily wooed by slick marketing strategies! I hope the HUGE R&D expenses are going towards a product that would skip a generation on Intel, but if a serious marketing strategy does not accompany the debut it just might be lights out time for AMD!

My interest here is for a quick turn and burn for a nice 30-60% gain inside of 6 months! There is absolutely NO way I would hold this dog for the long term if they are unable to realize the need to brand their product or expand into complimentary businesses that are not collapsing...like networking!!!

Intel is not unbeatable, but will AMD in its present form be the one to wage that "mother-of-all-battles"?! Compaq looks to be positioning itself to take on the goliath...perhaps AMD would fit nicely along side the Alpha, in their interesting and growing portfolio of companies!!!

ps. I've got one thing to say about this incredible summer rally..."AINT IT COOOL"??!!!
