Meitav's Recommended Investment
Portfolio

By Amir Eisenberg

Meitav is a long-standing private company and a
capital market leader. Owned by Zvi Stepak and
Shlomo Simanovsky, the company has been in
operation since 1979 and has a staff of 45,
including subsidiaries. Its research department
has a staff of eight, analysts and information
analysts, and an infrastructure which supports
the decision making process as regards the
investment of the funds it handles.

Meitav's main field of activity is investment
portfolio management for individuals, companies
and non-profit organisations. Meitav manages
investment portfolios amounting to more than
NIS 500 million.

We believe that State of Israel's relative edge
and greatest growth potential lies in computers
and electronics. This sector has a number of
shares with most attractive prices, some of
which are listed here.

Sapiens

Sapiens is a leading supplier of development
and service tools for the rapid construction of
applications. The company underwent
restructuring about two years ago, moving from
the sale of application generators to the sale of
complete solutions, including a Year 2000
solution. Last year, Sapiens was awarded a
number of important tenders.

In our assessment, the company is expected to
earn about $0.5 per share in 1998, and it is
trading at an attractive p/e ratio of 14.
