GALL,,Let me kinda clear up a couple of issuess

All those people you cite as modem competition they have to interop with CO/RT equip..So those guys better ask who they plan to sell to..

Not like the days of off the shelf Analog moDEMs. this stuff does not work together..

Westell makes more than moDEMs i.e. "supervision" product line

All the competition will have to line up behind wstl to get DMT chips.

I.E. Proirity relationship with MOT, TXN

last I checked BEL and US west are doing CAP then migrating to DMT when the stuff is available...

Longer Term wstl has as good chance thriving in the xDSL biz as the companies you mentioned above. Right now WSTL fans are waiting for clues on the BEL DMT RFP. If WSTL gets some portion of that deal I would say wstl would be in the top 5 companies to own in the ADSL area. If you want to go short, you would bet BEL screws wstl totally give the whole contract to ALA..

USE YOUR OWN Opinion not my

gall--

well, i think thats oversimplifying things a bit, no? the analog makers are ENTERING a field of pretty decent competitors...they arent entering a cake walk market with fat margins, where they can come in and squeeze the current players. the new guys would be smart to buy someone like WSTL. i fell pretty certain that the company has a lot more going for it than the current price indicates.

good luck to all,
trey
