In some ways this memory issue is like a case of concentrated detergent. It does the same as the big bottle, but when people see the little bottle next to the big bottle for the same price, which do they choose? It takes some education in order to recognize this. With the other suppliers not using this advanced compression technology, it will be a while for those except the most educated to catch on to this.

< Whatdya mean, "just kidding"? >

Only that you may yet be right. As they say, a bear market is when money finds its rightful owners. Holding a stock like this is one long and continual exercise in building up ones faith, especially when other stocks you like are going higher on a daily basis.

On another, related, topic: anyone care to venture on how Diamond's earnings report (coming up soon) impacts S3, if at all?

Jerry,
With S3's technology maybe they don't need the extra MB.
What S3 needs to do is educate customers on there technology.
If Joe consumer is in Best Buy and see's S3 with 8MB and
a competitors product at the same price with 16MB or higher
he/she will go with the competitors product.

I was in a meeting yesterday at a OEM and for the first time in
8 months S3's name was mentioned as a potential vendor for
apps in 99. It is a step in the right direction.
