Ramsey - Japan can afford to build out a CDMA system, even with its banks hopelessly loaded up with ridiculous loans.

So, this Mexican bank woes story (alone) does not particularly worry me.

Jon.

Ramsey,

Re. I have not seen any major coverage yet but if this blows up, the run is over.

You'd make an excellent cheerleader, Ramsey.

Thanks but no thanks.

From your post I take it that you think the market has already fully factored Mexico into the Qs outlook. I dont hold this view. Canceling current orders hurt, but not getting new orders? Mexico's problems (if they are of the Japanese variety) should have been brought to light during the last currency crisis. If it was identified and swept under the rug, I say it is da*n well time to let some of those fools sink. Continued bail outs do not enforce any market discipline.

From what I understand of the Mexican auctions, they were required to have the money on the table, not just promises on future revenues. (as some older US spectrum auctions) Still when all is said and done, I would not be too surprised to hear of similar troubles and even worse I would not be surprised to see the 'solution' as tax the people. Sad commentary. But at least our eyes are open, only question is - is it better to see the train coming knowing the track is out?
