The sentiment surrounding this sector reminds me of the Semiconductor industry in July 1996. That sector rebounded dramatically in about 12 months and was one of the leaders of the market in 1997.

The trends are all down and we haven't seen any shift in outlook. The bottom is coming, when is anyone's guess. But I will go on record and state that I believe we will see a similar reversal to that of the 1996 July semi industry.

My guess is that we will hit bottom the 1st week in August, but it is possible that the reversal will come sooner.

Good luck to all,
Michael ps......MDCO under 14 looks like a steal....

Re: strong dollars impact on demand for oil. While I don't know for sure, it would make sense to me that it could have a definite effect.

Whether it be crude or gold, when dollars are dear in foreign currency terms, and it takes more rupia (sp), yen, lira, or whatever, to buy dollars to pay for a commodity traded internationally in dollars, its got to have an effect, don't you think? Assuming it does, the sooner Japan launches it Resolution Trust or equivalent, the better.
