Tom,

you ask

Has anyone else ever planned for this type of confrontation?

I have never planned for this type of confrontation, but did have an interesting experience with seemingly vicious dogs.

About 8 years ago, I arrived home to find 2 stray dogs, fighting with my dogs. It was not a pretty picture. There was blood all over the 4 dogs involved in this fight. I was 7 months pregnant at the time and had a 1 year old, so I did not think it was wise to get out of the car. I went to a friend down the streets house and called the police. Let me interject here that in the small town in which I live we do not even have a full time police officer. When I called the police the call was forwarded to the state police dispatcher. When I told them of my plight, the dispatcher said, You know maam, the boro is not going to appreciate having to pay over time, for me to call in the officer for this matter. I immediately replied that I did not appreciate paying my taxes, but I did it anyway......so call him in..... Guess what.....the officer arrived shortly after that and solved my dog problem.

For me this was the best approach to solving the problem

By the way.......did I hit another buzz word on this thread, TAXES??
