Steve,

>>I can see asnd shedding some value seeing as a little bit was added due to take over rumours. I find it interesting that the much predicted industry consolodation hasn't happened yet.<<

The consolidation is taking a break. I have a feeling that LU
is not as good as it's hype. This will give other telco equip
companies a burst of confidence, and they will be buying. There's
a whole lot of them that you'd never suspect, that want to
get into the IP over voice conversion wave. Also, possibly
the sectors are having to digest a lot of news lately.
For instance:

1) AT&T with TCI

2) WorldCom with MCI (looks like MCI will have to shed it's
internet business, which it will grow back like a lizard
can grow back it's tail) Government bureacracy holding this up.

3) Sprint's plans for "convergence"

4) CIENA with Tellabs

5) CISCO giving more direct signals about getting into
telco equipment - I'm sure lots of behind the scenes
stuff have been happening to them to play their part in
convergence.

6) NT buying Bay

7) 2 or 3 RBOCs declaring xDSL and Cable Modems service - being
more foreceful about it - is part of the convergence push.

8) @Home, Qwest, and others are busily building infrastructure
and striking up deals when ever they see opportunity.

IMO, the market has a whole lot to digest, and could use
a few weeks to a month to pause and reflect on this
