In Ashton's press releases they usually indicate where the sample has been processed. They identify the samples being processed in Australia or in North Vancouver. I do not recall seeing any Ashton results that were processed in any labs other than their own. Once a sample has been processed I don't see the point of sending it out for verification. Diamonds are not like gold in where you can re-assay the pulps to confirm assay results. As I understand it, once kimberlite is processed you have only the diamonds in one pile and the waste is left in another pile. You would need unprocessed core to send out to see if the grades recieved are consistent. Specific diamonds may be sent out for things such as testing the quality of the stones or trying to determine the actual colour and clarity of the stones.
