Well jheez - we NEED lotsa nukes!
Penni emerges clad in in Holly Hunter's costume from Miss Firecracker, which fits perfectly even though it's a Size 2, because this is cyber reality.

Let me go on record as saying I really do understand that we need nuclear weapons --unfortunately. I got an e-mail explaining to me that I sounded smug(horrible word) and that I seemed to be saying that war planners are a bunch of brainless dopes.
If I sounded condemnatory of America, let me quickly wave the flag of which I am extremely proud and explain I meant "mankind" in general. I was speaking from my ivory computer--observing that to expect rational behavior regarding school lunches, when man (include women and all nationalities) is willing to spend huge amounts of resources, time, money on weapons of mass destruction, was a futile hope.

I don't see that we have a lot of choice at this point in time with the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the Middle East. I'm sorry that we are placed in the position of being the ones somehow "in charge". And I have a lot of feelings about our inability to do this wisely. (Or anyone's ability). THe "I understand your pain" approach makes for a good social worker but a lousy authority figure.
THe preceding are the opinions of a very politically ignorant person, who usually refrains from any statements of this nature because of her ignorance. But since I started it, I thought I'd clarify it.

(Penni exits, whistling Yankee Doodle, a feat worthy of admiration given that she has a lit sparkler between her teeth.)

Sure, of course we need nukes...and rockets too!

Did you happen to see the article in the July 2-8 Metro? Tom Rouse of San Jose is building a rocket intended to reach 120 miles and win the $250K Cheap Access to Space prize for the first non-government sponsored space launch. He lives down here in Almaden Valley...what say we drop by and play with his toys sometime?
