CYCH... looks like cybercash will initiate a $30 charge per month to merchant accounts by our next statement. This has changed from no charge at all.. Does that mean CYCH will now be making more money? When will this show up on their earnings forecast? CYBERCASH <CYCH.O> SEES Q2 REVS $2.2-$2.5 MLN VS $1.1 MLN IN Q1 RESTON, Va., June 29 (Reuters) - CyberCash Inc. said Monday that revenue for the second quarter ending June 30 are expected to range between $2.2 million and $2.5 million, up from the last quarter and the year-earlier period. Second quarter revenues were affected by some uncertainty in the market caused by the announcement of the secure, convenient payment technologies and services provider's Icverify acquisition during the quarter. Some customers of both companies delayed making purchase decisions while they assessed the impact of the acquisition, the company said. Its introduction of a new pricing model for its Internet payment services also caused a temporary slowing in the increase of its merchant base. Revenues for the first quarter 1998 totaled $1.1 million and revenues for the second quarter 1997 were about $812,000 on a net loss of $6.3 million, or $0.58 per share. CyberCash will report actual second quarter results on July 27, the secure payment technologies and services company said in a statement. First Call estimates a second quarter loss of $0.63 per share. It said it believes that the impact of both of these factors was temporary and it has already begun to see resumption in growth of revenues both from software sales and from merchant payment services. The new prices have generally been favorably received in the market, and the growth in signups of new merchants has begun to accelerate. The company said it expects to enter new alliances with financial institutions and technology companies, which it believes will help it improve and expand its payment services while generating revenue from consulting and development.
