The fault is actually in the Telcom Act. It's purported purpose was to foster an environment of competition. It was created by Congress. Congress, the universities, and the majority of big businesses don't have the foggiest idea about what competition is. They like competition, but they don't like "unfair competition". Unfair competition is oxymoronic. The situation with the Act has so degenerated that the Act will have to be dumped. The only way is to initiate the free-for-all. Congress will try to stop true competition in their misbegotten attempt to ensure fairness. The situation then will only get worse until the whole structure implodes. I warned about the coming lawsuits that will attempt to break the T-TCI merger. This will have the effect of delaying the buildout and the public will blame TCI and T. The RBOCs have nothing so they will go to Congress to make sure no one else has anything either. This is fairness. America loves fairness.
