Per Joe Girata CNKT has just over 13 million shares outstanding and
Stark investments had 1,831,372 shares on 4-28-98 proxy statement.
I believe CNKT would not have put company in play without some
interest by acquiring parties. Their first choice is a strategic partner
which could help them close sales they are missing. But they will
accept a buyout if the price is right. Their product is good but many
customers think they can do it in house for less money but they
are wrong. It would cost 50-60 million to develop a similar product
and take a year or more. So at $6 a share a takeover may make
sense.
