Pigboy - Re: " What will be the main differences (okay, this one youve probably answered a few times) between a 500 Mhz slot 1 and a 500 Mhz slot 2? "

L2 cache speed: 1/2 CPU speed for SLot 1 and full CPU speed for Slot 2.

However, Intel may be altering their Slot 1 Road Map somewhat and change from the Deschutes SIlicon to the Dixon silicon - with on-chip 256K L2 cache - full CPU speed. This is pure speculation on my part.

Re: "Just how long can AMD go?"

Quite a while. AMD/DLJ peddled $517 Million in convertible bonds just a few months ago. I'm sure they can find another group of suckers to buy half a billion dollars every year just to keep AMD afloat.
