Which is odd because rigidly adhering to any method would seem to go against the idea of being foolish. Exceptions always present themselves. And this aberation is most certainly, screamingly so, an exception.

T, re TMF's refusal to admit there is a time to sell, perhaps it is just another self destructive tendency of youth. Didn't they ride IOM down as well?

They think they are a hightech Warren Buffet, buying and holding for years, but I think Buffet actually cares about things like sales, profits, cash flow, and a track record.

Didn't TMF eventually bail out of IOM. How long did they wait in that case? Did they preserve any of their IOM profit?

good luck to the shorts

re there are exceptions and this is one of them
agreed.
Warren Buffet's buy and hold policy is excellent. For companies that are clear leaders in their field and will very likely remain so. There is no reason to think that Amazon. com will remain so. There is every reason to believe that Barnes and Nobles and/or Boarders will be the new leader.
In addition it seems to me that people love to browse in bookstores and having a real store to go to before buying on line is urgent. Otherwise why have so many bookstores now decided to include coffee counters and chairs, if the owners really believe people just come, buy and leave?

Ten<What they do with their money is up to them>
The money MF has invested wouldn't get you through retirement.
MF is just a chat line that has no bearing on what's really going on.
Did you notice that if you seriously question the MF's, your likely to get the 'MF has pulled your post because it's unfriendly'.
Thats what the Nazi's did, when the world was starting to question its genocide!, albeit there was no Internet then.
