<< have you seen a company shouted 'come on in, buyer !
we are on sale'?

I have seen some. The most recent example was Saks Holding. As a matter of fact, most of business is for sale, of course, for a right price.

You do have some good points but Viagra is not going up against Muse in the foreign markets, They are going against other well established companies. I dont think the scripts will drop off as much as in the US. Also a lot of countries will be very cautious about free flowing viagra, just cause not many countries can afford to pay for everyones use.
But at least Muse is cheaper to make now and crazy ideas of being a power house came down to reality. But VVUS management forgot the #1 rule of basic business class #101, Never let them see you sweat.
Overall they acted just like a bunch of high school grads with no idea of what they are doing. But the solid impression now is, they are willing to let someone else run the company since they cant. I think the stock will stay in the 7's for now just cause the shorts will cover knowing the company is for sale and that price will be higher than 10. Take the money and run.
