AFTER THE BELL-Pfizer drops slightly on news
NEW YORK, July 9 (Reuters) - Shares of Pfizer Inc. dropped slightly in after hours trading Thursday despite beating analysts expectations when it reported its second quarter earnings of $0.47 per share, traders said.
The drug company was at 115 in after-hours trading, according to Instinet Inc., down slightly from the close at 115-5/16.

First Call estimates put expected earnings per share at $0.45 for the second quarter.

Drug maker Vivus Inc., a company whose own impotency treatment, Muse, was sent reeling by the success of Pfizer's Viagra, was trading just below the close after reporting a loss of $0.76 per share.

That loss inred with 1,797,299 Wednesday, and session two volume was 6,191,498 compared with 58,320 Wednesday.
