I think that nobody would love to be the CEO of Vivus over the last 7 months.

Wilson can save face yet--either by turning things around or negotiating a reasonable buy-out in the near future.

Don't forget he still owns a ton of shares and would not cut an unreasonable deal if it was offered.

I believe Vivus can be sold for 15-20 bucks a share as we speak. Whether or not Wilson or the board feels that this is fair value is another story.
