''We view NetGravity as a proxy for Web audience growth and targeted marketing,'' said Benjamin. Benjamin estimates that the company serves over 3.5 billion banners per month.

Once again, who really cares how many ad banners are served by NetGravity software? In DCLK's case, it makes sense since their revenue structure is based on the number of ads served. NETG flat out sells ad servers. It doesn't get any "per ad" revenue like DCLK does. In fact, the more companies that opt to use a DCLK style ad selling & serving service, the smaller the audience there is for buying NETG ad servers.
