Moral Police and Turbaned Taliban:

Mohan:
In Afghanistan, the Taliban, in accordance with the religious precepts, banned TV. All TVs, upon discovery, will be trashed. Without sounding to trivialize the religious issue and in honoring religious sentiments of the practitioners, I don't see any mention against TV-watching in Sacred Koran.
An Indian entrepreneur, mused that the Taliban has to shoot down the Communication Satellites ( With left-over Stinger Missiles ) to really control the TV-viewing public. Bhutan does not allow satellite dishes, but videos are permitted.
Afghan Taliban allows foreigners to use satellite telephones and booze. Foreign women do not have to cover their head, but the practice is uniformly enforced on Afghan women.

Afghans have 15-day grace period, before they can get their act together. If not, they had it and the gun-totting Taliban in jeeps and pick-ups will be on prowl looking for bare-headed females and TVs.

What a day on the Stock Market? Everything is in the red as in Chillie Peppers. When are going to see some green as in green Bell Peppers? <VBG>

I understand that there is a palpable shift taking place from japan to China as the premier nation in that part of the world in so far regional power is concerned. What does this all mean?

PS: My portfolio is in a sea of red. Occasional on and off Green started appearing on the screen.
