You have a very good point there...I can't imagine why anyone would voluntarily take the heat or the s**t-slinging that has gone on here.

I am in no way implying that Spriggs is guilty of anything. I was asked for my opinion, and I gave it. I talked to Spriggs a few times and found him to be an intelligent man. Others who actually know the guy tell me he is a man of integrity. All of that could very well be right on target.

One thing I have done throughout all of this is tried to put myself in the shoes of everyone involved. Sort of an "If I was Fisher...", or "If I was Spriggs..." sort of thing. I concluded that if I was Spriggs and had been one of the "founding fathers", if you will, of a product as revolutionary as DF-144, I would at all times know the status of my product. Also, I certainly would not want to reveal my product to the world until I was damn sure that no one could steal it from me. That is the basis for my statement that I didn't see how Spriggs could not have known that Arcon didn't hold the patents.

Now, to play devil's advocate to my own point, (lol, what the heck, the weekend's not here yet), it could be possible that maybe Spriggs sold his interest in DF-144 to Arcon, Inc. in the past, and had no personal interest in the patent, hence no reason to be concerned with how the paperwork was done.

The bottom line is that we will not know exactly how any of it happened until it is all hashed out in a court of law. I have probably been the most guilty of speculation within the past couple of days as anyone, and I am going to stop because I don't think it is a good thing. This is going to be a long ride folks. I don't expect it to all be answered anytime soon. In fact, by the time all of the answers are known, a lot of us won't care anymore. (which is one thing Fisher is probably banking on). Truth will come, in due time.

Rather than go on and on for months and months about all of this, which in my opinion is totally counterproductive, I think the focus ought to be on the fact that the shell is now clean, and Midland is ready to look to the future.

The next thing I am waiting on the the shareholder's meeting. Otherwise, things seem to be progressing quite nicely. One thing I can say for Pierce, he has done more actual work in six weeks than Fisher did in six months! I am actually quite pleased with him so far. This is not said to cheerlead or hype him, but rather due to the visible results we have seen from him so far.

Just my opinion.
