Well, if you want a good re-entry point, you'll get it tomorrow. >:(
Don't worry, I'll be there with you. Besides, I'm numb to the pain by now. I feel like when I'm giving money to my little brother who "swears" he'll pay me back.... :)

As an aside, although the poll isn't scientific, the S3 card looks like it doesn't stand a chance before it even hits the shelves. Ugh.

Hal,

For Diamond, I think it goes beyond price concessions. While we don't know the exact numbers, it seems reasonable that they sold a lot of 3DII cards; they should have achieved some economy of scale in addition to the price reductions on RAM they certainly benefited from during their 2Q. Their competitors chose to pass some of similar savings down to the wholesalers/consumers, while Diamond hoped to hang on to, presumably, larger margins at the end of 2Q. They needed to break even on 2Q, they gambled and lost.

On the other hand Creative knows that if they can squeeze Diamond on their 3DII prices, Diamond will be in a world of hurt come 3Q and Creative knows exactly how much leway Diamond has.

Best Regards,
Jim

I am feeling more and more confident about qtr 2 earnings but obviously not guaranteed.

I believe that if earnings were to fall short we would have had an earnings warning by now. I don't believe we will fall short because it would blow all confidence it both the stockholders and potential institutions hands that no warning came out.

Granted we had a downgrade but TDFX did not publicly admit to an earnings shortfall as of yet. I always have believed that the more quiet TDFX is the better things turn out. The previous statement is what keeps me around. If we break out through this which I am hoping to get back to 25 and PLEASE HOLD I believe TDFX will make it big time.

By the way, Paul I really enjoy reading your posts because they add a great sense of humor.

Let's keep the faith!

Mike
