Roy,

Thanks to you and Bob. I'm not ready for RT yet, but leaning that way and want to look at all possibilities. I have a long time friend from school days that gets his RT from his cable hookup. He's been full time trading for over 22 years... and makes a fortune every year.

Anyone know about this cable hookup? What software do you use? Unfortunately, my friend is on an extended trip, so I can't quiz him.

TIA, Ken

I have been following this service and using it on and off ever since this service came out on the Internet. Access to this service is not reliable, as you can tell by a look at the periodic postings of this topic to their thread here at SI. I have not been able to access their web site for a couple hours at a time. The problem usually shows up first thing in the morning. Also there are occasionally false data in terms of volume and price. Others have run into some additional glitches with the software front end. So you get what you pay for.

If a serious trader is looking for a data feed instead of a new toy, I would look to DTN or BMI which cost more but also are more reliable services. Do not skimp on the tools of the trade. However, I did like the 5 day tick history provided by RT Trader, but this is not available anymore. Only PC Quote has this feature with their $300 Level II product. PC Quote is very overpriced for what they offer. And the DTN IQ Internet feed is new and from what I hear still has its problems. But their cable and satellite feed service I understand is reliable.
