You are right.....in NY State that means that the patient takes no spontaneous breath on his own after being off a ventilator for at least one minute or with the presence of elevated co2 in the blood.I've had the displeasure of being at a few of these events, and it isn't anything you want to remember too often.I've never seen people sadder than when they realize that the end has come for their loved one and they are but a bag of tissue.....well, enough of this depressing crap...this brought back some memories, that's all....
