Y2k And The Internet Stocks...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
>>>I wonder if we can lump YHOO, AMZN, EGGS, etc. in the same Y2K potential problem pile. Haven't many publicly stated they have reviewed Y2K and foresee no problems in conversion? Or is it temporary possible reduced access to them that's a worry?<<<
OH:
Y2k problems are far from being resolved...
Any problems with:
Pc's..
Telephone lines..
The power grid..
Software for the above..
Embedded chips for the above..
Will take down the On Line services (AOL, Compuserve, Netcom, etc.)
All businesses that depend on the telephone lines could be shut down..
These companies are valued based on future earnings two to three years out... Right in the middle of this is Y2k... I doubt that this has been factored into the astronomical valuations...
