You make a good point.

I was short micron last December and after very disappointing earnings (over 40 cent loss and well below estimates) it still ran from 22 up to 39.

Last month they reported more terrible earnings (50 cent loss) and so far the stock price has risen from 20 to above 29 today.

Micron is basically a one product company (DRAM) with extremely intense Asian competitors yet its share price by some unknown force continues to hold and go up. Micron has a very high short interest which the longs seem to constantly keep at bay.

The market is totally unpredictable and I feel that Vivus can go lower but may also close higher. It depends on what the institutions holding Vivus make of the entire situation--some will actually see any weakness as a buying opportunity for some excellent returns in as little as one quarter.
