I guess i disagree with you about reliability of their internet service

it is down frequently
and when you can access it
the speed can be slow when trying to do something

but then again...I have over 20k quotes with them and I am constantly refreshing to get quotes all day long

and there are frequent problems with "no result code" for a quote because their service is down on the quotes...or cant download your executed orders...

so for me the reliability is not so good

but I dont really have anything to compare too..

there are many times where I say F&** It...get off line (because I dont have two phone lines) and use their trade direct service...(forget waiting on hold for a broker...can be 10 minutes and that is TOOOOO long for intraday trades)

here is a problem I had today which I wouldnt have had
using a live broker

I had a order in to buy MER calls...changed it to 3 3/16 not remembering your cant do 1/16 over 3 dollars...so they canceled my order without me knowing it and when I changed the order back to an 1/8 order...it never went through (although I got a confirmation code) because they cancelled my 3/16 order without telling me until after the close

Now...they could have reestablished my order since it was clear what I was doing...but they didnt...

so there was a case of when it would have been better to talk to a broker...

btw, when they called and left a message with answering machine..they said you cant use 1/16 over 1.00
I called to verify with their after hours service..and they told me that was incorrect and it was only over 3.00...

once again....being told different things from different people

if I was doing FAST intraday scalp trading Waterhouse wouldnt cut it....

I trade options for the most part so speed is important. I just wish they would put real time quotes on their order page.

DLJ had the most user friendly web setup that came on Disk. The only problem was when you called them, they put you on hold for 10 minutes. Heck the option could triple by then or worse yet fall. They wouldn't allow spreads etc so I canned them. Also, I always thought they had good data but I noticed near the end that their real time quotes didn't match my other sources. Today quote.com, CBOE and Waterhouse all showed my 1/2 bid yet DLJ showed the 3/8 all day. How can they get away with that? People make decisions on that data!

My trading buddy used National Discount Broker but he is a straight option player. He liked them for the most part but recently is trying out Web Street.

Yamner is great but I make allot of trades and keep the volume conservative 10-20 contracts at a time so the commissions hurt my average return.

Chris, do you think DELL will stay in this channel or will we break out and increase this run. Seems like our charts are in sync as for resistance and support so far although I have to admit I made a boo boo and had my line drawn crooked so I had clear sailing to 103 1/4, OOOOPS. Your prediction made me go back and check my data, thanks again. I would rather wait to get more after CPQ announces but hate to miss a move. I guess I'll have to watch it close huh.
