Heard one acquaintance who uses Avant at work gives a praise of its product, I did not ask much in details. I did short it, got little burned then it came down and out w/ small profit (when it was 18-22 range). But in general Parametric (main product ProE - Mechanical Design/Manufacturing) had a poor earning and tanked, and most chip designers might have a slow down of investment so I don't think even w/o legal the earning would not be spectacular (Have no position in Avant)

Roger, you're right about the tone, but I don't know enough about the company or its products to guess whether this is a real problem or bad spin control. Certainly a difference of opinion among analysts - 2 strong buys and 3 holds. Looks like an interesting situation. Bob
