I think the crux of the post is this.

If you forgo one of two acquisitions and the one you pick produces significantly higher return than the one you didn't pick then, on an EPS basis, your share price will be higher. Thus, you did the right thing...from a share price standpoint.

From a total earnings basis, if you double the shares and don't quite double the revenue, you indeed still have more total revenue but on a per share basis you are behind the curve.
