Maurice, Actually, the same French Revolutionaries who gave you the metric system did invent (and impose the use of) a metric calendar. 10 months per year and 10 days per week. It didn't work well, though, and after the Reign of Terror it was discarded while metric weights and measures were retained. It turns out that the seven day week really is fundamentally ingrained in our nature. ==John C.
