That is an extremely interesting point made by Livermore..that is
also why I get exhausted..
I realize that there are different players in the market..the value
players who refuse to play the game and just wait patiently for their
time to come
the momentum players who could care less about fundamentals and just
try to caught each trend and jump off in time
the shorters or hedge funds who look for overvalued stocks or look
for overbought sectors
I think some of the random walk in individual stocks is pure pyschology...hold a stock down long enough to create doubts in the
holders of the stock or options until they lose patience..
hold down a stock which has great news to make people doubt the great
news..
or another is probably to allow some big trades come into or out of
the stock..the search for a big block of stock so that might take time
there also sometimes look like stalemates..one holder might be forced
to sell since somebody is giving the message that they will not allow
the stock to go up until they let go..deeper pockets against deeper
pockets..
a few years ago I watched the trading closely on noble drilling..wow..
you should have seen the huge blocks crossing..it was like a painting
in progress...the big move different occur lately but it was interesting to see the setup...
I truly respect Ahhaha but I just don't agree with him on market
manipulation...
One of my friends works for a hedge fund with a computer driven model..the fund has been so incredibly been successful both in up and
down markets..it is closed to new investors...that it is so successful
it strongly suggest patterns that are discernible..
also I attended some lectures back in the early nineties..Abby Joseph
cohen was one of the speakers...she predicted this bull market based
so much on demographics and baby boomers saving..among other things..
a few of the people predicted it would run into 1999...based on history....

ps. I currently feel like the biggest fool in trying to have predicted when gold would be at a bottom...
A friend told me he read an article which stated that the most successful fund managers did much better than the brightest fund
managers...
anyways at this point, I think gold will turn when it wants to!
