The earnings release and analysts conference call has been rescheduled from July 14th to July 22nd after the close. The reasons given were to avoid a conflict with Intel's release and to allow time to discuss WinChip program developments and the details of the $25 to $45 million charge.

I expect earnings for this quarter to be lousy but expect the company to marshal together a lot of information about the WinChip program, how they plan to attach the market and deal with aggressive pricing conditions. I have no way of knowing if the results of the status report will be enough to give confidence that the road-map for development and exploitation of the WinChip is probable.

TA on IDTI shows that it has established a base at the current level. Having dissipated nervous sellers and not participated in unreasoned speculation, this level can either be the base from which the stock propels or it could break down to new lows. The news of the write-off and low earnings prospects is old but even worse results and outlook is possible given the dismal business climate. However, "this is the season of discontent" for semi stocks and much of the earnings concerns are "normal" seasonal variations and historically a great buying point. We'll see.
