From MF board: ------------------------------------------------------------------ After listening to the Diamond conference call, I'm more confident in TDFX than ever! Analysts were sharp and kept coming back to Voodoo questions. Even Lenny B was there, asked a lame tax related Micronics question. Although Vermillion covered the nuts and bolts of the CC, several important details need posting: 1. Over HALF of Diamonds total 2Q revenues came from the three SKU's of TDFX Voodoo 2/12M (highest margin) Voodoo2/8M, and orginal Voodoo. Total revs $174 mil, margins in the "low 20"s" THIS IS AWESOME !!! 2. Sales of Monster "spectacular" with strong margins. 3. Glide is "better overall for gamers" 4. Savage NOT an ultra high performance product, will be marketed for it's "specialized features" 5. Voodoo 2 based product will continue to be "HOT Product into 3Q, AND 4Q, with peak sales in the second half of 3Q. 6. All of the brass at Diamond use Viper plus Voodoo 2 in their home machines ! Two with SLI ! 7. The $20 mill order cancellation is "not lost" revenues, just pushed back. Euro "forecast was overly aggressive" and "orders did not materialize" as expected. 8. "We could have made some deals and pushed out the $20 mill" 9. The "legacy product" is low to midend video, NO profit, sluggish sales, DSO and turns flat. 10. Lowered prices due to memory price collapse, triggering price protection. Texture memory hit hardest. 11. Top down 2D/3D: TNT, Banshee, Real3D, SIII Savage 12. Intel i740 not mentioned. 13. Very TDFX positive, afterall, if it wasn't for TDFX, Diamond would REALLY be hurtin'
