Tom, how can you become wise, if you do not read? As far as becoming more sensitive, putting oneself in the position of an animal who is going to be slaughtered, and feeling his terror, is a good exercise in developing a generally humane attitude. Is this even something that you want? Some people are gratified by being at the top of the heap, and afraid of the thought of losing their status there. These are the people who are so wrapped up in material goods that they become very self-destructive when they fail. And if you didn't have all that beef fat gradually clogging up your arteries, the path of enlightenment would be lit up in neon in front of you. Aside from the spiritual stuff, are you fully aware of the consequences of the typical meat-laden American diet on health and longevity?
