betty....you are correct....and as the US scripts rise slowly in the 3rd qtr and the explosive growth overseas for Muse...3rd and 4th qtr will be even better....with 1999 eps of $1.00 or more.

Look at Charlie O' projections for the year ~$9 mill loss....well he sees the growth to get us out of the 1st and 2nd qtr losses.

Look at a lot of small bio companies with no sales or far less sales than vivus has done and will do in 1999 and more in yr2000....
there trading at $25 and higher....

As soon as they have a large company J&J or Astra/Merck selling in the USA and results of the 3rd qtr then they will have regained Wall streets confidence.

betty,

the milestone payment will either be 2 million or 10 million.

So if all 4 of the European countries mentioned get approved in Q3 then it should be 12 million.

Assuming it is only 2 million then I get -2.2 million. I don't know what start up costs were for the factory in Q2 but you can add that to the -2.2 million......my guess would be that it is at least 2.2 million.

So based on those assumptions we have break even.

Now add about 32 cents if Europe gets approval PLUS income from product sales. It looks to me more like about a 10 to 20 cent quarter based on product sales. I think that if product sales are good and we get European approval it will be a blow out quarter.
