JSaf... It would make not only good biometric sense but good business sense for IDX to scoop up a facial recognition/iris scan outfit. There wouldn't be another co. around that could support the major biometric technologies along with the software to run it. This opens up all sorts of possibilities, doesn't it? The Mastercard conf. call yesterday was all about e-commerce. Now that's my kind of money-maker! Jean

Viisage is not Visionics.

The award winning "FaceIt" with INS and other government contracts, comes from privately-held Visionics. (I remember doing a series of reports on Visionics some time back.) As for Viisage, it seems that being Number 2 in facial recognition technology at this early stage in the game can result in red ink.
