Yes, Mark... they were the first, and I think that the other hand helds were waiting to see if this thing was real. I had discussions with several of the mfgrs in the beginning of 97 regarding this, and they didn't acknowledge at the time that there was a real market for DSLs. One of them actually came out and stated to me that HP would probably come in and sweep the telco market like they always do, since the procurement process was too onerous for a smaller co to tolerate.

My thoughts at the time were that the smaller Cat 5 Test Set mfgrs were in a good position to get into this early on. Fluke is one of the few who fit into the category who took the challenge, that I am aware of, although they are not exactly a startup. <g>
