Yes. ITs friday, and the weekend hasn't even started let alone
go by. I'm going to see Armageddon to get my frustrations released.
I'll live through Bruce Willis' character.

To all FNTNers:

I have not been keeping up with my reading and, because of this, I'm about 300 messages behind the most recent post. However, I had an occasion to send an e-mail to the marketing director of the 'Hollywood Bowl'. The response I received will provide an indication of the acceptance of the internet as a sales and marketing tool. Perhaps some of you will find it interesting.

A side benefit of not keeping an eye on FNTN, minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day, is the peace of mind I have experienced. I strongly suggest others do the same.

Dear Jim:

This is a fast reply. I will send you a more comprehensive one when we have are a little further down that track you describe.

We are still in the "walk before you run" phase with our web site, but a major overhaul is currently under discussion. We will probably have a 1998/99 version ready in early September in time for the Winter season at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. We plan then to incorporate packages which, if we realize our ambitions, the system will tailor (somewhat) to the site visitor's musical tastes.

An impetus for doing more, better, and fast, is the fact that, depending on the concert, we and Ticketmaster together are selling up to 25% of non-subscription seats online! Internet commerce has come to our world faster than we thought.

I thank you for your comments. It is in hand. But I'll share our progress with you. Meanwhile, enjoy Garrick Ohlsson tonight.

If you wish to talk further, my direct line is: (213) 972-0762.

Regards, Michael
