Interesting prior post about looking at Manugistics for a clue as to the market response to Vantive.

The basic pattern is:

1) decline prior to news of earnings miss
2) decline on news
3) further mild decline, but basically bottoming for a couple weeks
4) 5 point uptrend in the last few days, concurrent with the announcement of a class action suit

Basically, it looks like buying prior to the announcement of a class action lawsuit could be the way to go. It makes you wonder whether many people won't buy as long as the looming threat of the class action suit is out there - could be an opportunity.

Clearly this does not address any fundamentals affecting MANU or VNTV, but I do think there is a strong psychological component to demand after a debacle like this.

Rick.
