Well, I'm not an M.D., I'm a Physicist. I don't know what BHP is and radiation is not prescribed for prostatitis. Radiation is not a cure but a therapy. You probably know that radiation can also cause cancer. So you always have to weigh the benefits v.s. risk. Radiation isn't usually used for non cancerous conditions.

"While irradiated seeds reduce the size of tumors, do they also reduce the prostate gland size as well? "

Actually during the seed implant operation the gland swells up to 3X its size due to the invasiveness of the procedure. But the fact still remains that the patient can resume normal activities in 2-3 days.

I'm 2 years out from being seeded with PD103. If the tumor (actually few PCa's are tumors, per se...usually, it's just a bunch of cancer cells, not the lump one often associates with a tumor) was fairly widespread and the choice was to use a lot of seeds, the prostate eventually will wither down to nothing. Several years after the procedure, a DRE would be the same as one having had a prostatectomy. I had a relatively easy go at it, having had only 66 seeds implanted. I've seen upwards of 150 done, however. That would cook the prostate pretty good and it would eventually shrink down to nothing. In my case, I have some gland left, and will continue to.
