Further signs of life: PT Perusahaan Negara announced the completion of a 540 Km gas pipeline to transport gas from South Sumatra to Caltex's Duri steam flood oil field . This field produces 290,000 bbls. of oil per day. The gas will free-up 60,000 bbl per day previously used as fuel for the field. The cost of the line was $590 million - financed by the Asian Development Bank. Caltex is a joint venture 50% owned by Texaco and 50% by Chevron.
