Be thankful you're not an animal in one of Pet Smart's stores.

Anthony,

The following institutionals own PETM per Value Line Investment Survey for Windows. My files are up to date, so this is the most recent data available:

SMALLCAP World Fund (3M)
Vanguard PRIMECAP Fund (1.8M)
First American Special Equity (1.05M)
Heartland Value Fund (1M)
New Economy Fund (1M)
Smith Barney Special Equities (1M)
Merrill Lynch Global Holdings (.45M)
MFS Growth Opportunities Fund (.4M)
Alliance Quasar Fund Adv (.31M)
Flag Investors Emerging Growth (.27M)
New England Capital Growth Fun (.25M)
MFS Emerging Growth Fund (.18M)
Vanguard Index Extended Market (.1M)
WPG Growth Fund (.1M)
Loomis Sayles Growth Fund (.07M)

For what it's worth, I buy almost all of my cat's necessities at PETM, so even though I don't own the stock, I feel I'm doing my part to keep the price up. <vbg>

Anthony,

3) Regular posters at this thread have dwindled down to three.

I used to be a regular poster (and shareholder), but sold my final stake in the middle of the last run up to 13. As much as I wanted to believe PETM wants to turn things around, I wasn't seeing enough evidence in my local stores (Atlanta, GA).

As an example, a local PETM store (Perimeter store for any locals) recently closed down its veterinary clinic. I talked to them last Friday and found out that it wasn't due to lack of customers, it was due to problems staying fully staffed. The one full-time person quit last Friday and they are shutting it down until they can hire some more people. Not a real good sign if you ask me.

Good luck to the remaining dogs out there. I may be back here again someday.
