Bob:

Were you ever able to get the OS/2 version to scale? My company also has OS/2 version of the Edify product (for the same reason as you, the NT version wasn't ready yet), and we have had nothing but problems. We are having absolutely terrible problems getting any performance out of this thing. Our CEO is really frustrated with I/S on this project, because we can't make it scale. I/S is frustrated in turn with Edify because they are unable or unwilling to help us. We also came to find out, after the fact, that when the NT version is fully available there is no way to upgrade from OS/2, except to go through all the work again (i.e. start from scratch with the NT product), because the tool set and files are completely different.

When we originally got the product I bought in at about 15 because I liked the ease of use. The further we went with these folks the less impressed I was. I got out at 20 before the "fall", and was thinking of shorting the stock when the bottom fell out.

I believe Edify is betting the company on the fact that their NT products will save them. I think their market window isn't very large though. I've begun to see some development tools coming to market (e.g. Visual Studio 6, Marble, etc.) that will make it much easier to create these kinds of products. At that point I suspect that they will have many more competitors, including some of their large customers who may try to do this in-house, which will put great pressure on their pricing.
