Okay, give me a chance to show my ignorance in all of this plugging stuff.

Your ignorance? You asking me to comment on your post is the equivalent of Einstein asking Harpo Marx to comment on his relativity theory.

I yield totally to you and hereby appoint you our resident guru on this topic.

Hey gang, this guy knows what he's talking about.Everyone agree?

K Joseph,

Thanks for taking the time to provide some of your knowledge on what may be occuring with the well. It makes for some good reading about how these things work and the problems associated with them.

Dave

PS: KZAP can you please explain how the air fresheners work. I know that you are the AddHatter's specialist.

Good Weekend to all

I have a wife waiting on me.
So this will be short.
In this day and time, a crew goes out and clears off a site
that has been slected. (Of course this could have been done
by 3-D or whoever.(
A pipe is set maybe 30 ft. deep. A rig comes along and sets-up
over the hole and drilling begins. Casing will be set at a time
determined. (Gelogists?)(Mud experts?) Casing is set to prevent
a collapse in the hold. Mud is used to 'weight' the oil/gas and
allow the debris made by drilling to come to the surface.
Casing may be set several times, different sizes depending on
depth and so on.
I don't know how deep this hole is, it's at least 7,500 ft.
It could be over 20,000 ft. But I doubt it. Most of the rest
of K. Joseph post is relatively accurate. It of course can be
stated with different terms. (I too cannot think of, and the
fact of the matter, I can't spell some of the terms! <gg>)

More details can be told about this well perhaps by someone
currently in the oil/gas business. Of course, disposal wells
are not new, but I know of no one who is in this business.
I can only speculate.
The "plug" in this case is to prevent disposal materials from
going deeper. Just anyone cannot pour the concrete. (Too bad!)

Hope I don't show my ignorance too much in this post! <g>

Happy investing!
